Salah Extends Regret to Teammates, Says Curtis Jones
Curtis Jones has shared that the Egyptian forward said sorry to the entire Liverpool squad following the fallout from his public comments.
The Incident
The striker was dropped from a key Champions League match subsequent to making accusations and claiming his connection to the head coach had broken down.
“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘Should anyone feel slighted, I apologise.’”
The manager has refused to reveal on whether he received a personal apology from the 33-year-old forward.
Moving Forward
Jones insisted that the squad's reaction stayed normal. “Nothing about him changed, he was smiling and everybody was exactly the same with him,” the midfielder explained.
Jones also noted that a teammate fighting for a place is preferable. “I understand there are specific approaches you can handle situations,” he said. “Yet, should someone be happy to just not start, then I think that’s concerning.”
On-Field Response
Liverpool's form have remained strong in the matches since the interview fallout. He feels the outburst were not intended to harm the team.
“If passion has boiled over, it has consistently come from a good place,” the midfielder stated. “That chapter is closed and we’re gelling well as a team, playing well and on a positive run.”
