The Opening Xbox Game Pass Games of 2026 Reveal Xbox Remains Committed.

In numerous discussions, enthusiasts continue to ring the death bells for the green team. Microsoft's console just got outsold by a platform few have heard of. Xbox fan sites are now publishing content on PS5 topics for the first time. 2025 was a period of total upheaval for the Xbox ecosystem. Yet, based exclusively on the upcoming Game Pass lineup in 2026, it is apparent that Xbox continues to plan to draw people in with quality releases on its key platform.

The Immediate Additions

The two games that are immediately available as you read this, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, are not the headliners. Rather, it's what is coming to Game Pass over the next few weeks that's worth getting excited about.

Significant Forthcoming Releases

Starting January 13th, the platform will add the often-overlooked Star Wars Outlaws, a vast exploration title that breaks up the standard Ubisoft formula with a cosmic robbery tale. A further major acquisition is Resident Evil Village with its iconic tall vampire, previously described as "an ideal blend of horror and action."

Noteworthy Smaller Games

Yet, the less-hyped additions arriving shortly on the service deserve recognition. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, a fantastic but under-the-radar dungeon crawler offering thrilling gameplay, arrives January 7th — and it merits a playthrough even if you missed out on the first Lost in Random game.

This UK-developed survival title from last year could captivate you within just a quarter of an hour.

Atomfall, a game blending infiltration and resource management by the developers behind Sniper Elite, is another one to watch. Those with the top-tier subscription also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to get excited about.

A Robust Selection of Games

All in all, these aren't the most groundbreaking additions to Game Pass, and they don't represent first-party juggernauts that are the sole reason for the service by themselves. Yet, this selection are very dependable. There's a good mixture of past releases that passed you by and relatively recent releases that failed to receive the spotlight they deserved the first time around — transforming them into perfect candidates to find a new audience on Game Pass.

Be prepared to say goodbye to The Grinch Christmas Adventures, as it happens.
